Marriage in islam

Marriage is very important in the Islamic view.  From the Islamic point of view, marriage is also a religious act.  This article is about the first marriage in the world and the marriages of the prophets.

The first marriage in this world

The great man Adam (peace be upon him) was the first man and Hawwath (ra) was the first woman.  They are connected by marriage, the first marriage in human history.  Here is what happened: Different types of soil were taken from different parts of the earth and mixed with water.  It turned out to be black clay.  That soil is the source of human creation (Qaswas al-Ambi Yath - Ibn Kaseer p. 39-40).God says, Indeed, We created the human beings from sticky clay (37:11).

After a long time, God gives human form to that sticky clay (15:26).  As time went on, that clay form became like a tile that makes a sound when it dries up and hits.  GOD breathed into it his spirit.  It has become a human being.  The first man, Adam (a).

He created man of dry clay, the sound of which knocks like clay (55:14).  God placed Adam (a) in the Garden of Paradise.  Heaven is a world of pleasures beyond human imagination.  The abode of the blessings of Allah, the Almighty.  And Allah's permission for Adam (a) to enjoy the blessings there and live as he pleases.

Adam (a) lives alone in that heavenly world without a spouse and helper.  Everything is perfect heaven.  But he had something less emptiness, boredom!  Once, while Adam (a) was asleep, Allah created another creation by taking one from his left rib.  When Adam (a) woke up, he saw the creation.  A beautiful woman near her head is so happy!  As if the loneliness had been filled.  Now there is no empty seam.  Boredom is gone.  Adam (a) asked the beauty queen: "Who are you?"

"A woman" "Your name?" "Hawwa".  "Why were you created?"  His hands stretched (waytoislam.online) out to the lady who was created to live in harmony with him.  But the command of God came.  The angels said: “Adam!  Do not approach her without marrying her.  "What did I have to pay for?"  "Praying over the last prophet" (Saawi 1: 176).

Adam (a) said the prayer.  GOD has established a marriage bond between them.  It was the first marriage in human history.  Those spouses had to move to Earth.  The latter had children, one male and one female in each birth.  They grew and grew.  The marriage was repeated on earth.  And reproductive process.  That is the history of the origin and development of man.  See the Qur'an pointing to it;

"O mankind, He created you from a body, and created from it its mate, and multiplied many of them, both men and women. Beware of your Lord. Beware of Allah and your kinship with whom you ask one another. Surely Allah is watching over you." (04:01)

The importance of marriage

Man is a combination of soul and body.  The two have different interests.  Both should be considered.  It is essential for human survival and progress.  Hunger and thirst are the nature of the body.  Healing should be seen with food and drink.  It cannot be ignored.  There should be some order and control in the consumption of food and beverages.  That is good for the body.

Uncontrolled use can be dangerous.  Likewise, sexual desire is rooted in body nature.  It is not natural to ignore it.  But there are some religious sects.  They see celibacy and asceticism as highly commendable.

Sex is very ugly.  Marriage is unthinkable for them.  This is not good for mankind at all.  "Bertrand Russell" compares the plight of the poor to the inability to really eat.

The hungry are always thinking about food and wanting to get it and sometimes trying to get it unjustly.  People who do not bother to eat on time do not think much about food and engage in other activities.

He says that monks and celibates are like poor people who cannot go hungry (Marriage is a study - NBS Kottayam p. 22).

There is another group that strongly hates marriage.  They are the ones who do not like any control over lust.  They want unlimited sexual freedom.  Their literature is full of descriptions of it.  The world is experiencing the consequences.

Deadly diseases are putting mankind to sleep because of depraved sexuality.  Prostitutes and their clients are a question mark before the world.  Even in cultural Kerala, the rising number of child abandoners calls for the devastation of abusive sex.

The importance of marriage in the Islamic view

Both of these ways (celibacy and uncontrolled sexual freedom, which ignore sexual desire, are neither practical nor beneficial to mankind) are the middle way of Islam.  Does not promote celibacy.  It forbids all illicit sex.  Islam prescribes marriage for the fulfillment of sexual desire.

Among the followers of the Prophet (peace be upon him) there were those who wanted to avoid marriage and live only in worship and godly thought.  They thought that would be desirable.  But the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) turned them away.  Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "Once three men came to the houses of the wives of the Prophet (peace be upon him) to inquire about the worship of the Prophet (peace be upon him).  When they came to know about the worship of the Prophet (peace be upon him) they felt that they were very small.  They said, "Where are we and the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him)? Allaah has forgiven all the sins of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) and all that is to come." "  No cutting at all. Third:" I will stay away from women.  I will never get married ".

The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) summoned them and asked them: "Did you say this? Know! Allaah is the True! I am the most pious of you and the most pious among you.  (Bukhari, Muslim, Mishkat p. 27).

Once ten prominent Companions gathered at the house of 'Usman ibn Malhoon (ra).  Abu Bakr, Ali and Salmanul Farisi (ra) were among them.  For the sake of material aversion, they decided to have genital mutilation, to abstain from sexual intercourse with women, and to give up delicious foods.  Knowing this, the Prophet (peace be upon him) warned them.  The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said that none of this was part of his action.  Accordingly, the following verse was revealed (savi).

O you who believe!  Do not forbid what God has permitted for you.  Do not overdo it!  GOD does not love the transgressors.  Eat of the good things which are lawful for you out of that which Allah hath given you.  And fear Allah, to whom you believe. (5: 87,88).

Islam gave importance and encouragement to marriage by banning all forms of sexual perversion such as adultery and homosexuality.  It was declared a religious ritual.  He commanded that those who were capable of leading a married life should do so.

Family is born out of marriage.  Society is where families come together.  The proper survival and growth of society depends on marriage.  That is one of the main reasons why Islam commands and encourages marriage.

Marriage;  the model of the prophets

The Qur'an says that marriage was the practice of the ancient prophets: "We sent messengers before you, and gave them wives and children" (13:38).

The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) enumerated marriage as one of the four actions of the ancient prophets (Turmudhi)

The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: "Marriage, dental hygiene, perfumeing and shame are the four acts of the Prophets" (Ahmad, thurmudhi).

The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) taught that the prophets, the best of men, were married and had family ties and that their example was desirable.

All the Prophets mentioned(waytoislam.online) in the Qur'an had wives and children, and the Prophet Yahya (a) was married, but he did not have sexual intercourse. The Prophet Jesus (a) will come down to earth on the Day of Judgment and get married, and they will have children" (Ihya Ulumuddin: 2:20).

 God's blessings in marriage

The Qur'an sees Allah's establishing marital relations between human beings as a great blessing and a sign:  He created for you from your spouses children and grandchildren.  And He provided for you from the good things (16:72).

He created for you from yourselves mates (marriages), (waytoislam.online) that this may be one of His bounties, that you may be reconciled with them, and that He may have placed among you grace and mercy. Indeed in that are signs for a people who(waytoislam.online) give thought (30:21)

Recall that the Qur'an said this at a time when a woman has no soul, and although she belongs to mankind, she was created only for the care of man, and classifies woman and even questions her existence.  The creation of woman is derived from man.  Not with other soil.  She was created to be a man's mate;  Not to be a waitress.

She is a man who works outside the house all day and brings home his mental and physical hardships.  A smile from her to the weary mind.  A funny, loving behavior is a great relief.  The condition in which a thirsty man received a cold drink.  The Qur'anic verse "You shall attain peace of mind with them" is relevant here.

 Financial problems and marriage

When marriage is required, there are those who stay away from marriage due to financial obligations.  The Qur'an tells parents to arrange marriage for such people:

Marry those of

you who remain unmarried and the best of your slaves, men and women, and if they are poor, Allah will enrich them of His bounty(24:32).

Ibn 'Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) said that this verse encourages the unmarried to marry (Ibn Katheer: 3: 286).

The great Abu Bakr al-Siddiq (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "Obey the command of Allah to marry, but He will fulfill His promise of prosperity (if they are poor, He will enrich them of His bounty 24:32)" (Ibn Katheer: 3: 286).

Ibn Mas'ud (waytoislam.online) (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "You get rich through marriage" (Ibn Kathir).

Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported about the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him): "It is the right of Allah to help three people: 1. He who marries for the sake of chastity 2. A slave who writes a pledge of forgiveness in order to pay a ransom. 3.One who fights in the cause of God". (Ibn kaseer 3:287)

Islam places great importance on marriage.  Islam also considers marriage to be a sacred act of worship.
